Etape 2

Etape 4

What will the back cover reveal ? Oh ! A fan ! Rather uncommon for a portable console? But common for a regular console. The Nintendo Switch totally deserves its hydride name !
The latter is maintained by four small cruciform screws.
Above : MicroSD player, hold by a fifth cruciform screw.

Etape 5

The MicroSD player is one of the first piece we can remove.
By removing the black foam bracket, we can see the connector in which the nylon spudger insert rather well to unclip the player.

Etape 6

By removing the metal shielding, we can see the console's heart and its different components. The most important part now begins !

Etape 7

Good surprise : the integrated battery is rather easy to remove : a nylon spudger will do the work to disconnect and remove the logic board !
Nintendo has made a simple choice : to not put a lot of glue under the battery, nor strong adhesives to maintain it, contrary to a lot of console manufacturers.
Knowing batteries never last and will eventually have to be replaced, we can thank Nintendo !

Etape 8

Lets continue by removing the storage memory chip.It is a Samsung one, model KLMBG2JENB. Its capacity is 32GB, MLC type.Technical form : http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/products/flash-storage/emmc/KLMBG2JENB-B041?ia=2324

Etape 9

The removal of the console's heater is easy. Remove the three cruciform screws.

Etape 10

In the top part of the Nintendo Switch, the ROM cartridge is welded to an ensemble of components like the headphone jack and the FPC connector, for the touch screen link.On that same card, there is a micro processor FT9CJ0CR640 which probably runs the touch screen part of the console.

Etape 11

The fan, same as the heater is maintained by 3 cruciform screws. The fan is made by Delta Electronics, model BSB0405HAATT.5 Volts, 0.33 A intensity fan.

Etape 12

The more we disassemble it, the more we see that it's adjustable and fixable !The replacement of each lateral part where the joysticks connect is possible thanks to the cables secured by the FPC connectors.
Very practical, especially if we by accident tear or break one of them.

Etape 13

The Nintendo Switch has two small speakers on both sides of the console. They can be disassembled with a pair of tweezers and a nylon spudger. They are not glued to the rear panel of the console.
We do not have more informations about the manufacturer besides « G6N17V4B2D12B »

Etape 14

The cable above the console allowing to control the volume or to turn it on, is linked to the logic board by a connector and can be easily disassembled. This part will wear easily because of the repetitive push.
The possibility to replace it without welding it is an excellent point !

Etape 15

Now lets disassemble the logic board : only six cruciform screws and two electromagnetic shielding. So easy !
But, the dock connector is welded to the logic board.

Etape 16

Here is a descriptive of the major components on the first side of the logic board :Green :4GB separated in 2 chips of 2GB (SEC 643 K4F6E304HBMGCH)Pink : W92T36640582Dark blue : Graphic processor NVIDIALight blue : WiFi radio component and Bluetooth Broadcom BCM4356XKUBG

Etape 18

The reparability grade given by SOSAV to that Nintendo Switch is 7.5 out of 10 (10 being the best grade) Positive side :- The tool kit is enough to disassemble the whole console.- The conception is simple and allow an easy repair.- The battery, though not removable without disassembly, isn?t glued to the rear panel. Its replacement is rather easy compared to other devices with an integrated battery.
Negative side :- The use of many screws like the « Tri-wing » can discourage the repair : one screw type (cruciform) would have been preferable. Too bad ! - The dock connector replacement can?t be without a weld.
